South Main Cycles open for business
Steve Pepitone and Talia Simons cut a ribbon kicking off the grand opening of South Main Cycles in Belmont. The shop, which features a wide variety of bike lines, riding apparel and equipment, is at 105 South Main Street. Chamber members were on hand to welcome a new member and celebrate the new business. New location for Empire Ceilings and Floors
Empire Ceilings and Floors owners Greg and Tammy Bryant celebrated their new office location with a Montcross Area Chamber ribbon-cutting ceremony. The four-year-old business is now located at 1108-F Union Road in Gastonia. In the photo, Greg and Tammy are cutting the ribbon under the supervision of company dog Sable. Cramerton opens Town Hall, Police Dept. 
After a year-long renovation, Cramerton town employees and police officers have moved back to their historic 1920s building at 155 North Main Street. A ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house were held on April 5. The building totals 15,000 square feet and houses both the Town Hall and the Police Department. In the photo, Cramerton Mayor Ronnie Worley is cutting the ribbon in the new Board of Commissioners chamber. Holding the ribbon are Montcross Area Chamber Board Chair Timothy Roberts of Cottage Keepers and Past Chair Julie Roper of PSNC Energy. Surprise Me celebrates 1st anniversary
Chamber members and friends and Surprise Me customers turned out in large numbers to celebrate the first anniversary of the gift shop at 132 N. Main Street in Belmont. First Entrepreneurs Roundtable (Video highlight)
Present and future business owners heard stories of success and failure from four local entrepreneurs at the Chamber's first Entrepreneurs Roundtable. The panel of presenters is shown here: (from left) Rebecca Johns of Creative Travel, Vince Hill of Caravan Coffee, Scott Toal of Short Run Pro and D.J. Toal of Bisque Imports and Slumpy's. The Entrepreneurs Roundtable is part of the Chamber's five-year Forward Together program, funded by 31 area businesses, foundations and individuals. It's goal is to create jobs in Gaston County by encouraging and supporting entrepreneurs to start new businesses and to grow existing businesses. Public sessions are planned quarterly. New hours, specials and more at Backwoods
Backwoods Fancy Vittles in Mount Holly launched a new menu, new specials and new hours of operation with a Montcross Area Chamber ribbon-cutting on Monday, March 26.Backwoods, at 119 N. Main St., Mount Holly, is now open Monday through Saturday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., offering early bird and daily specials, gourmet lunches for the office, catering, meeting space and more. In the photo, Backwoods owner Chad Ratchford is cutting the ribbon along with Backwoods staff members, members of the Mount Holly City Council and Montcross Area Chamber officers.
