The Montcross Area Chamber is implementing a five-year plan called FORWARD TOGETHER to create jobs in Gaston County. The strategy is to help existing businesses grow, help entrepreneurs start successful new businesses and help recruit needed new businesses to the area.
Thirty-one companies, foundations and individuals have invested in the plan, which targets small business growth, leaving recruitment of large industrial businesses to the Gaston County Economic Development Commission. Click this link for the FORWARD TOGETHER Investor Honor Roll.
A Chamber staff member has been assigned to work one-on-one and in groups with existing businesses to help them find the resources needed to succeed, grow and add employees. A Launch Pad business plan competition has been developed as a joint project of the Montcross Area and Gaston Regional Chambers of Commerce to encourage entrepreneurs to develop new business ventures. Mentors are assigned to work with semi-finalists in the competition. $23,000 will be awarded to the top three entries at a Shark-Tank style finale. (More)
