After more than 20 years in the newspaper business, including serving as editor ofThe Shelby Star for four years and publisher for nine, Ted was self-employed in management recruiting when he moved to Belmont in 2005 and began working part-time for the Chamber. The work quickly became a full-time passion. A life-long Tar Heel, he grew up in Rutherford County. He’s married to Freda Tyler Hall and they have two children, Jeremy Hall and Allison Hall Cottingham, both of Belmont, and a grandson Chase Chriscoe.
After 15 years of Chamber experience with the Gaston Chamber of Commerce, Teresa in 2006 became the first executive director of First Things First, a nonprofit service organization in Gaston County. But her love for Chamber work was deep, and when the rapidly growing Montcross Area Chamber was ready to expand to a second full-time staff member, she joined the team in May, 2007. She now works to help local businesses succeed, expand and create jobs in Gaston County.
Several years of Chamber experience prepared Andrea well to become the third member of the Montcross Area Chamber staff on Jan. 1, 2017. As director of member services, she works with and for Chamber members to help them realize maximum value from their participation in the Chamber. A Gaston County native and Belmont resident, Andrea served the Bessemer City Chamber as a volunteer in many leadership positions. She later worked for almost two years at the Gaston Regional Chamber. She also worked for seven years in an administrative position with Edward Jones Investments in Gastonia. She presently is serving for the second time as president of the Gaston County Jaycees. Andrea is a graduate of Catawba College.She is married to Ryan Schrift and they have a son Ollie.
